It was something that Shanira had never gotten used to, her own speed at points was her greatest weakness as well as her strength and having been caught entirely off guard because it was her own doing, Mark crashed into her and down they both went. She fell backwards into the stone road, nothing in particular she could think of that felt pain aside from her whole backside and the first thing she noticed was him leaning over her instead of falling directly on her.
As soon as he sat up she quickly followed, scrambling to her knees and looking over herself.
"I-I'm fine! See, I'm..." she shook herself about as she said it to show how 'fine' she was, yet as she did so she found herself biting her lip and grabbing the back of her head as she felt a throbbing pain from it when she shook her head around. She pulled her hand away to take a look at it, not seeing blood or anything that could tell her she was hurt.
"Fine!" she grinned probably way more than she needed to to try to assure him she was as she said she was, "um...are you?!"

"Yeah, yeah I'm great," Mark said while brushing himself off. He looked around the area as he tried to gather his surroundings, off in the near distance he could see his dragons flying about... which meant his house was, "Over here, my house is outside of the city. Not a far walk at all."
His house was built right near the beach on the far outskirts of the city. It was a small house built with a dark wood that stood a story high, it had a main room and two bedrooms in the attic.
"I somehow doubt she'll look for us there," Mark gestured over to the house that sat silently in the distance. Harumi wasn't there right now, having taken a job in southern Santo-Luce she rarely returned to the house.
Mark was a little glad that he didn't have to explain to his daughter why he was running from an angel with another angel. Those conversations were never good ones.

Shanira got back to her feet, shaking herself off a little despite the quickly-subsiding pain and she followed Mark as he pointed out his home.
'You know, Mahila really wouldn't think to look here, not since the last time...' she thought to herself, briefly remembering when she and the then prince had ran away and actually managed to evade Mahila's searching for nearly a whole year. They'd left the city then and stayed far, far from it closer to the Crepusculum border if she remembered correctly. Shanira didn't plan on staying hidden for very long this time, though, thankfully or did she.
"Right!" Shanira answered and before taking another step she reached into her very, very long hair and pulled out a few strands. Carefully tiptoeing over the area where she'd dug her heels into the ground she went to work creating a false trail, carefully re-tracing her steps back to Mark to turn in the other direction for if Mahila were to find this spot she'd run the opposite way. She wasn't sure if it actually worked on her or not, she'd never seen of course but up to this point in her life it'd given her success. Just as long as she didn't leave any scuff marks from her heels or anything.
She looked down at her boots and her lip twisted in thought, brows furrowed. Off they came, too, suddenly making Shanira a good half a foot shorter, boots in one hand and she wound up her long hair around the other.
"Mahila will not find me," she answered proudly even if she looked a little silly doing so, and she hopped along with Mark eagerly to his really cute little home!

Mark wasn't sure what Shanira was doing at first, but after a few moments he seemed to catch on. Not wanting to ruin her masterful plan, Mark stood completely still as she went around the area. He couldn't help but smile as Shanira displayed such confidence that her 'friend' wouldn't find them...
Mark didn't think Mahila would find them either, after all, what crazy angel would go knocking on random people's homes in search of them!? Kyoki maybe, but he didn't think Mahila was THAT crazy.
Mark twisted the door handle and pushed open the door to reveal a nice little house with a kitchen tucked up against the right side of the house and a couple chairs seated in front of a fireplace towards the left side. It was pretty clear that this house hadn't been in use for awhile because there was a small amount of dust spread out on the various furniture.
Mark stepped in and turned around towards Shanira, "It's no castle, but here it is!" He called out with a weak smile.

Shanira hopped inside, a silly bounce in her step on her toes as she entered the home. It was even cuter inside, or so she thought. She hadn't really seen much for small mortal homes, she had really only known the castle and that was...way, way, way bigger than this. She had room to run in the castle. And even the castle Alexander scolded her muchly for running around.
At least she knew how to behave now. She set her things down and began making very careful laps around the kitchen, curious about everything. It was all so little compared to what she'd known! And oh was she ever amused eyeing up the little thing with holes in it that cakes come out of (otherwise known as a stove to the common person) to the windows and their cute little curtains and and and...
She stopped snooping around to turn her gaze back to Mark with an enthusiastic grin.
"Is yours? This is nice! This is one that is..." she started sputtering half thoughts aloud before she stopped everything she was doing to throw her hands up in the air excitedly and announce, "we win!"
Mahila was gone! That was something to celebrate!

"This is a success than!" Mark exclaimed as he stepped over to to the kitchen and fished through some of the cabinets until he found a bottle of dark red wine, "You know," Mark began as he looked for some glasses, "I hadn't played any sort of games in a long time and tonight I've played TWO."
Finding two glasses he poured the red liquid into it and casually walked over to Shanira, "You are really a very lovely and persistent person. I do hope the fun doesn't stop here."
He made a quick glance over at the fireplace that held some age old logs, a brief snap of his fingers caught the logs on fire - not enough to make any noticeable heat in the house (it was already a pretty warm night) but just enough to illuminate the house in just the perfect way!

Shanira really did try to play this a lot more cool like she always dreamed she would have, but when it came to the moodsetting with the lighting and the wine she found herself lost in a stumbling of girlie giggles.
"It probably won't if you remember you still have yet to claim one of those prizes from our games tonight," she grinned as she eyed the fireplace, features softening as she watched the flames, "you're...a little different than what I expected of you. This is all different to me, it's something that...I'm not sure how I could say it..."
She looked back to him, eyes meeting his for a moment as she said in all seriousness, "I want to know you. I want to know why you're here, I want to know who you are. I want to know what makes you happy and what worries you...I'm talking a lot, but I'm curious. I'm serious."

Mark wasn't totally expecting what she said, all of it, it was something completely different - it was really a completely different Shanira. Never had he seen her with such serious eyes, not even when they were facing down demons in Hellious had she been like this!
He wanted to answer her, give a perfect explanation to every question she had. Mark smiled a bit before taking Shanira's hand, "You're asking questions I've asked myself a million times over. Just when I start to figure out something someone throws me a curve ball and I'm lost again..."
He took a deep breath and decided he was going to let her know everything that HE knew, "My name is Mark Fri yet I'm also known as 'Solaris', I should be growing up back at Earth right now but for some reason I was picked to contain an ancient and angry god which I have ironically become. I'm incredible afraid of bunnies and I don't much favor spare change either..."
"There isn't a lot that makes me happy either," Mark smiled weakly as he stared into Shanira's eyes, "Most of the time I'm pretty miserable, I don't have many friends because most people want to kill me. But I do know one thing - I'm happy with you, I know I've said it before but I don't think you very much understand what that means for me to say that..."
"I haven't been happy in almost two decades. But being around you is the greatest thing that has happened to me in a long, long time. I like you a lot Shanira."

Shanira listened to his words, expression unchanging as he poured out everything she really hadn't expected him to share with her. And yet as he took her hand she couldn't describe what came over her as she smiled contently, squeezing his hand in hers.
"This is different to me. I was created to be part of my master, to kill without remorse and die for him if it came down to it. They always told me Solaris was never really 'gone' but as to where and why no one would give me an answer, just...strange stories now and again about how he would destroy people and places; my job is to stay in Heaven, my avatar--the fox--comes to Allorum. Especially with me being the one looking after the king who has no heir, they would always tell me 'Young one, you can never leave. It's too dangerous down there for you.'
But it's petty. I do as Felios says and he adores it. The others, the main branch or the 'royal' family are fine but the others are so easily jealous. Everything has to be done one way, everything has to be done without question. I broke everything, I left because my master was in peril and I'm much stronger being there in person, and I left because I told myself I could do better than this yet. I can't stand them."
Shanira spoke with an odd graveness in her voice, yet she was quite sincere with her words as she kept her eyes on Mark, an even stranger warm smile forcing its way onto her lips as she continued, "Allorum is different for me. I came here and I'm meeting other people and things that aren't fellow, petty angels--at least to the same god--and my master treats me different. He treats me like a person, he asks for my feelings and my thoughts. He's always asking, he says I don't think about what I want or feel...
But I can tell you how I feel. Different. At first I thought it was because I met you and you're good-looking and..." she paused for a moment, eyeing him up and down very obviously and very quickly, "well, to put it simply where I come from there aren't a whole lot of men. But my master asks me about my feelings, he makes me think, and I feel different now than I did before I came to Allorum and I want to say it's kind of...nice.
That's why I want to learn all about you. Because I think I like you, too..."
Damn she had no clue how else she was supposed to say it. She wasn't even sure if she was right in what she was saying, it just seemed to be so right according to everything she'd ever heard Alexander blather on about. She wanted to pick Mark's brain apart to find everything she could about his family, this irrational fear of bunnies, his favourite colour--anything and everything! Her questions were piling up surprisingly quicker than she could ask them.

Mark's heart seemed to skip so many beats as Shanira spoke. Mark had opened up to her and Shanira did so as well, which must have been a good sign.
Mark kept eye contact as she spoke, every word seemed to be as sweet as the last regardless of what she said! And as she spoke the final words 'I think I like you, too' it brought out a bright smile from Mark.
"Shanira," Mark began, stepping a bit closer to Shanira, he couldn't even properly think of how he could say what he wanted to say. So he just did it - wrapping one hand around her Mark pulled Shanira into a kiss.
Mark thought that related what he wanted to say perfectly.

Shanira didn't have a damn clue what she was doing. She wasn't kidding when she said she was created to fight things, skills tested to kill mercilessly and that was it, there was room for almost nothing else. Feelings towards her fellow guardians in Heaven was almost something to laugh at, though they weren't completely lacking for each other they acknowledged each other as a 'family member' of sorts, basic sadness or happiness for most of each others' experiences but the clashing between the branches (especially towards the main family, or Shanira's) made it hard for them all to get along and develop decent relationships. It wasn't unheard of, it wasn't necessarily uncommon, but it was a very hit or miss melodramatic mess.
The only person she'd ever been encouraged to have any real feelings for was Alexander, a given that she was to grow up by his side. And she did, he was like the dearest brother to her and she watched him grow as she did as well. She was always there for his own troubles, arguing with his father and all the times he spoke of 'love'. Oh, how he spoke of it! She'd spend days curled up in his lap as he read her love stories and poems, some he even wrote himself, everything detailing with every bit of his heart what a strong emotion it was and how it felt. Shanira would listen, and thought that it sounded wonderful though she never really understood it. At least it had seemed like the most fantastic feeling in the world until Alexander would show up several days later lamenting over his failed relationship--then he'd repeat the whole thing all over again, usually several times a month for years on end. Really, it wasn't until Zeke entered the picture that this odd process of her master's finally stopped, now he seemed to be stuck on the happy side of things. which meant less headaches for Shanira
It seemed tiring, yet now that she thought of it here she was, remembering all the little details she'd long heard from Alexander about what this whole thing entailed. She probably wouldn't call her feelings towards Mark 'love' quite yet, but for this time as he pulled her in and their lips met she acknowledged the few things she herself knew of this situation. She was adamant on having him to herself, she felt light-headed and funny on the inside when he did sweet things for her (as opposed to the earlier feelings to murder him instead, those appeared to have subsided), and the moments they had together, even as few as they had been she still thought of fondly even when he was gone. And when he was back, she was just about as happy to see him as she was whenever Zeke or Alexander made an appearance.
She realized this, as simple as it was she appeared to have let her curiosity influence her into developing feelings for an extra person in her life, yet in different ways than she had with her mortal master. It was different, it was confusing, it wasn't really like her...but maybe a change was nice. What could it really hurt if she was liking it?
Shanira brought one arm up around his neck, and speaking of her curiosity she let their kiss linger on for another few moments before she pulled back, staring up into his eyes and barely whispering, "So...not one for games. But you liked our games before, did you?"

"Our games tend to hold my attention better than most," Mark smirked as he eyed Shanira up and down, "Far better, actually."
Mark's eye briefly broke up from Shanira, eyes falling on the stairs that led up to his room. With one more mischievous grin he lightly pulled Shanira towards the room with the intent of claiming his prize.
And so he did...
---
Mark awoke as a steady pecking sound reached his ear, having not slept in this house for many months he wasn't used to the fact birds liked to make nests inside the wood and the noise they made clearly disrupted his sleep. Mark pulled himself out of the bed, groaning deeply as every muscle in his body begged him to go back to sleep.
"Maybe I'm finally getting too old to stay out all night..." Mark voiced his thoughts as he glanced around the room, his sleep made him groggy and his couldn't completely remember what had happened last night.

"Ewww! Don't tell me you're old! I thought you were just experienced and like, mature or something..." Shanira piped up from the other end of the room. Quite unlike Mark she was wide awake, sitting very comfortably on the floor half wrapped up in a bedsheet and her hair-by-the-foot hung loosely over her shoulders like a waterfall of golden thread. She held a storybook in her hands that she seemed to be studying diligently...
...she probably would be learning more from it if she held the book the right way, but as it were it sat upside down. She at least kept herself pretty preoccupied. Though as she voiced her own open thoughts she blinked, quizzical gaze looking upwards as though she were trying to search her own mind for something she'd forgotten but couldn't quite find it...
"Wait, how old are you?" she finally asked, whipping her head in his direction, "and why bunnies?"
Because the best part of waking up was having an overly active girl in your house asking you a million questions when you're half awake.

Oh yeah... Mark thought as he looked over at Shanira, a grin coming to his face as memories of the night before rushed back. Taking a second to admire how the morning light shined against Shanira's figure, he crawled over to her and laid down beside her.
"751," Mark explained, "Enjoying that book?"
Mark was purposely avoiding the subject of the bunnies. He feared if he explained she'd never be the same...
Because after that day, Mark was certainly changed forever...

'SEVEN HUNDRED AND...'
A giggle squeaked out of Shanira and for a moment she had to look away from Mark, a noticeable flush of colour on her cheeks. She felt like the teenage girl sneaking out with the university student. It was one thing for Alexander to have pointed out he was 'old enough to be her dad' but this was a few ways from him being just her dad. It wasn't something that actually bothered her by any means, she didn't view it any different regardless but she did at least acknowledge that seven hundred and thirty-ish age gap between them. Kinda sounded like a bit. Not bad though.
Bringing her to the subject of the book made her forget entirely about her earlier question as she turned back to the pages, the words staring up at her and she stared confusingly back. She looked to Mark with a very innocent grin as she answered, "No, not really. Master usually reads to me, he knows this better."
And to avoid looking like a complete doorknob, she shut the book quickly and stuffed it aside, adding in a quick, "I-it's okay, I'm done with it anyway! It wasn't good."
She blinked again.
"...Oh...Master might not be happy..." she whispered, curling up with him and snuggling up to his chest, "I think he wanted me to go home instead of be here all night with you."
