Jasmine raised an eyebrow, very much unamused.
"She's too young for you, isn't she? And I don't think it's good for you to have relationships with floozies..."

Yeligar looked at her, and said, "Yep, we have a lot of important jobs to do. Heh, we may even stop the world from being destroyed." He then asked, "How did you find this place so easily?"

"Stop the world from being destroyed? You mean the Sumata, right?" Melanie tilted her head to the side. Her village had been attacked by Sumata soldiers, she'd love for more than anything for all the nightmares to be finally over.
"It'd be nice to have peace finally," she smiled, twiddling her thumbs in her lap, "...as for how I found this place, Vincent told me awhile ago that he'd come from Ignis and likes to visit often enough. I figured if I left my village and spent enough time travelling here I'd eventually find him again."
Her face fell into an uncomfortable look as she added in, "...the country is so much different than Unda, though. It's scarier here."
"S-she's not a floozy! Jasmine, what kind of a man do you take your own dad for anyway?!" Vincent answered flustered and before Jasmine could cut in with anything else, "...she's not a strumpet, harlot, whatever you want to call her! I'm serious, I'm actually going to be...seeing her."
It was awkward for him to say it, to admit he was in some kind of a relationship again. It was a good thing, right? He had to get over his wife eventually, anyway.
"She's not a replacement for your ma, if that's what you're worrying about. I just need to..." he trailed off, not really sure if he could actually explain his feelings entirely to his daughter, someone who had yet to experience anything like a real, true love.
...And hopefully would never have to experience losing that true love.

Jasmine gave Vincent a hard stare. She couldn't judge, could she? He was very much missing his wife and if she had to put herself in his shoes, what would she do?
She couldn't even imagine it. He seemed sincere enough, though something about this whole situation just...didn't sit well with Jasmine. At all.
"Papa...you should...you should be able to make the choice to accept someone else in your life, I guess," she answered slowly but then raised her voice, "b-but she's far too young! How old is she?! And you're like, what, fifty years old?!"

"FIFTY!?! That's how old you think I am!?" Vincent erupted, his voice echoing in the yard. He looked very dejected afterward as he continued, "...try thirty-eight."

Jasmine's eyes widened and she stifled a giggle. Okay, so he really wasn't as old as she thought he was...
"Y-you're still old enough to be her father, though," Jasmine retorted, "I just don't think that's really right..."

Vincent raised an eyebrow, thinking about what Jasmine said before he answered quietly, "...well, sometimes I think I'd like her to call me 'daddy'..."
Almost losing himself in his thoughts, he shook his head back to reality and suddenly threw in, "R-really, it's not that bad. You know that lots of women your age are married off to men thirty years old? This really isn't as uncommon as you think."

Jasmine blinked, missing just about everything Vincent said aside from one really off thing.
"...why would you want her to call you 'daddy'?"

Huh, so she did hear it.
"NEVER YOU MIND," he suddenly spat in response before turning back towards the house, "now if you wouldn't mind...Jasmine, I should uh...introduce you to her the proper way."

"If you this place is scary, you should go to Tuono at night." He chuckled, as he looked at the kitchen. "I would love a day, knowing that I do not have to fight to protect my comrades for a while."

"Tuono? All of these places are different than Unda, that's what makes them all so terrifying at times. The countries are run differently, the people are different..."
Melanie looked up the moment Vincent walked back in through the door, the other young girl following along behind him. Vincent scratched his head before he stepped out of the way and ushered Jasmine inside the house again.
"Sorry for the wait and the...well, the awkward situation not too long ago," he started, "Melanie, this is my daughter, Jasmine. Jasmine, that's Melanie...my...girlfriend..."
His eyes glanced over to the young brown-haired woman; she smiled, telling Vincent she approved of being titled as his 'girlfriend'. She immediately leaped from the chair and stepped cautiously towards Jasmine, politely curtseying.
"I'm sorry about that, I really am. It's good to meet you, Jasmine."

Jasmine followed Vincent into the house, carefully eyeing Melanie as she did so. The woman approached her, she was very polite. Jasmine made no move to mutually bow back or even shake hands in any way however, she turned her head away slightly and raised a suspicious eyebrow.
"How old are you?" was all she said.

"Jasmine," Vincent warned but Melanie smiled brightly.
"Twenty-two actually," she responded, almost a little embarrassed because the blonde girl was very young-looking herself, though old enough to be an adult as well.
Vincent smiled regardless and looked over to Yeligar with a very happy, hopeful look.
"There, I think this is working much better. I'm sorry if any of this seems awkward to either of you ladies, but I'm sure you'll see everything will work out."

Jasmine had nothing much else she had to say. She looked at Vincent and then to the girl, not a welcoming look about her yet not as much of a bitter one either. At the moment her entire air was unreadable.
"You met her in Ignis?" she finally spoke, desperate to avoid awkward silence.

As if perfectly timed, there came a knock at the uh...kitchen doorframe as the tall figure of Bastien let himself into the house. His black hair as usual was a mess but the rest of him was very nicely kept, his suit a very clean one with perfect creases. He smiled politely, sliding his hands into his pockets as he announced himself.
"Knock knock~ I'm sorry that I seem to be interrupting something here."
