Kevin simply flashed her a sly smile as Andy crossed his arms.
"Griever... yeah I know it, but it...well," he reached inside his shirt and pulled out a silver chain with a Lion's head on it. "It's the name of my necklace: Griever. The tattoo on my arm is the same design."
Kevin took a sip of tea and continued to give Andy a strange look.

Jasmine gave Andy a quizzical look and replied, "Your necklace? But that's...I...I thought that there would have been more to this than that..." She gave Kevin another cold look. She didn't know what was going on with Andy, but she wasn't stupid enough to believe that Zelos was interested in a pretty piece of jewellery around his neck.
To avoid her mother's gaze, Jasmine turned to face Andy and her eyes spoke with worry for him.

At that moment Kara came strolling in rather nonchalantly.
"Well you all look serious, what did I miss?" She sat down down next to Jasmine, calmly smoothing her long raven hair.

"Kara!" Andy, from where he was, gave her a hug out of relief that his new friend was alright. Now seeing that she was alright he could relax a little, Kevin however remained the same.
"Oh, just having a discussion," Kevin explained to her, "About Mr. Jammer here."
"Yeah listen," Andy began, "What does Zelos want with my necklace-,"
"It's not your necklace," Kevin interrupted, "I mean, the name Griever goes to something else besides that trinket."
"Well, then what is it?" Andy asked impatiently, crossing his arms.
Kevin paused before going into an explanation, "About some thousands of years ago: the previous rulers of this kingdom encountered two beings of power: some call them Gods of Harmony, some Gods of Chaos. It depends on where you're from."
Kevin glanced at the symbols on Kara's arm, which were hard to see, but he could see them and continued. "The truth was: These beings had an important job to do: they kept the balance of life and death in the world, both gods did their job because it was needed. now, the story goes that one of these gods, named Eden, is in charge with harboring souls to the next life upon death. And when Eden is summoned, it means that Crepusculum's life as a planet... is over."
There was a silence as Kevin finished his story, Andy managed to choke out a question.
"And... the second god?"
"Oh yes," Kevin grinned. "The god of the Apocalypse...Griever."
Andy's heart raced and his eyes widened, did he just say Griever?!

Jasmine couldn't help but smile when she saw how happy Andy was to see Kara alive and well. This was definitely a side of him she had yet to see as usually he was cursing or calling someone out, or tearing something apart as vicious warriors do.
It was nice to see, he was a sweetheart. She wouldn't know why she'd word it in that way, but it warmed her own heart having gained some more respect for Andy.
Hala walked over to Kara with a cup and the teapot and asked her, "Ah, my little Miss Kara, would you like some tea, yourself?"
The moment that Kevin told about the god, Griever, though, Jasmine's eyes widened as well. She glanced at Andy, wondering how he must have been feeling--you were just told that essentially, you are a god--how was one supposed to react to that?
"So what does that mean for Andy, then? And what does that jerk from the Sumata 13 need with him? Why would they be so uppity about this?" she found herself asking and Hala finally put the teapot down and gave Jasmine a stern look.
"Jasmine, we don't use that kind of talk in this house and you know that," she said. Jasmine returned a disbelieving look to her.
"But you know I'm supposed to help Andy. I have to train hard and protect him, especially with these strange powers he's got. Mr. Yeligar even told me--" At the mention of 'Yeligar', Hala's eyes widened and she snapped.
"That...atrocious...Jasmine Loque, you'll never again mention the name of that...that piece of work in this house!"
"But why?"
"He's a murderer, that's why! A terrible, family-wrecking murderer," and when she saw Jasmine go to open her mouth again she continued, "my patience with you has grown too thin--I didn't raise you like this. Get out."
Jasmine dropped her head for a moment and then glanced around the room at everyone watching. Her own heart thudded hard, her face burned and turned pink embarrassment, and her eyes filled with tears as she pushed past everyone and stormed out the front door and onto the porch. Hala sighed deeply a moment after the door slammed shut.

Kara was slightly put off with the mention of Gods. She hadn't thought anything so important would be involving her. Just as she opened her mouth to ask if Kevin might know why they wanted her as well the commotion between Jasmine and her mother ensued.
Kara's eyes followed Jasmine out the door and lingered worriedly. "Oh, Jasmine." Her question would have to wait. She trotted out to find Jas on the porch and gave her a reassuring smile. "You alright?"

Jasmine jumped at the sound of Kara's voice--she really hadn't expected anyone to follow her. She quickly wiped away at her eyes and sat down on the porch.
"I am, I guess. I don't know. I don't get what she's so angry about, or why she hates that Yeligar guy so much," she said, and started playing with a few strands of her hair, "it's just embarrassing, is all. I know she doesn't like the way I was talking in the house earlier, but I want to find out as much as I can about...well, everything that's going on. I was afraid of us losing Andy earlier and I want to make sure that it'll never happen again."
She smiled a little, seeing Kara's smile helped bring it about. "I'm sorry, Miss Kara, you shouldn't be here looking after me. I was told by Yeligar to look after Andy, and that is what I shall do even if it'll be the death of me. But you are a warrior yourself, so I should be looking after you, too."

"Wait, what?!" Andy burst, "Yeligar...a murderer?!"
He was about to question her further, but when Andy saw Jasmine's mom yell at her and her and Kara walk out he stood up angrily, despite his wounds.
"Who the hell do you think you?! Talking to Jas like that?!"

"It's just Kara, we're friends now and I feel obligated to look after you just as much as Andy and vice versa." She sat down and hugged Jasmine. "I feel better just knowing you Jasmine and I can't give enough thanks. Andy and anyone else should feel the same. Including your mother."
After that emotional spilling she fell silent for a moment but then a thought piped up. "So who's this Yeligar person?"

Hala looked absolutely perplexed at the young man yelling at her. She narrowed her eyes slightly as she stood up tall and sternly said, "I am her mother, young sir. What else do you need?"
She glared at him for a moment, almost ready to start yelling at him herself but something seemed to calm her a bit and she sighed again, tapping her fingers on the table.
"I just don't want her having anything to do with Yeligar Maelstrom, and if you're smart, you won't either," she continued, "...he killed my husband. As my home, this is also my place of work because people come in and out of here needing medical attention and I hear many things. I practically raised my daughter to go to war, and after having lost her father because we listened to Yeligar--who sent my husband on a suicide mission of all things--I don't want to go through the same thing again."
She looked out the window, then, barely seeing Jasmine and Kara moving around on the porch. Hala then put back on an arrogant look as she scooped up a cup of tea and said, "My daughter also knows better than to speak to guests in such a rude way, anyway. Maybe some time outside will teach her better."
Jasmine returned the hug that Kara gave and smiled widely. "Thank you...Kara...you're such a good friend, you know," she said, but then sat back as she continued, "oh...and I met a man by the name of Yeligar not too long ago...he was just out here while I was at the lake once. He had told me that Andy has a great power inside him and that if I don't try to help him and watch out for him, he could potentially hurt himself with it. He said something about me needing to save him from himself..."
She blinked, rethinking that meeting. "I don't understand all of it. I'm supposed to be a healer and guide to Andy, though. I said I'll do whatever I have to for him...because I will. I care enough about him to make sure he'll never fall."

"Yeligar...did all that?" Andy asked, shaking himself out of his reviere. "That doesn't matter, she did nothing wrong!"
Kevin actually nodded, "I don't mind a girl who speaks her mind."
Kevin merely shrugged his shoulders and frowned, "But you know why Zelos is after you now. He thinks you're linked to Griever, and it would be best for you to learn how to control your abilities."

Hala tilted her head to the side and replied, "Yes, he did. No, Jasmine really doesn't know any of that...but I still firmly stand by the fact that I raised her to be polite at all times and since she's left she seems to have developed a bit more of a...rebellious side, I suppose."
She eyed Andy accusingly and added, "I think I may have a fair reason why, too. I guess I can't try to change it, she's made up her mind and seems hellbent on following you to the ends of the world. I can see she really looks up to you."
And, stepping back into the topic at hand, Hala squinted at something from across the room and walked over, picking through things on the shelf. "Andy, is it? If there is anything I can help you kids with with regards to your journey or even this Zelos man, you can let me know. I hear all sorts of things from people who come and go from this house, and I pick up some interesting information regarding the Sumata every now and then..."

She...really believes in me that much?
Andy frowned and nodded at her, he remembered when Jasmine said something about trusting him...
But he focused on the fact of training and Hala's offer.
"All right, if you can find out anything about the Sumata that would be a good thing."

Hala picked a book off of a shelf and skimmed through it, saying, "Oh believe me, young man, I'll hear things," and she turned in Kevin's direction, "Kevin, hon, did you need me to get you anything else? I have a couple more biscuits in the basket, yet."
She then slammed her book shut, staring straight on at Andy as she added, "And on that topic, you need to eat something. Out cold for how long, weak and injured, I'll make you the most filling roast you've ever eaten--you'll be able to take out an entire army."

"Um...I...okay," Andy stammered, not really sure how to respond...and he was fairly hungry himself.
Kevin nodded as well, "Your biscuits are, as usual, quite lovely."
Kevin grinned as he pulled one out and began to chew on it a bit, swallowing his food before speaking once more, "Mr. Jammer is going to need all the energy he can get."
