"Not exactly," Andy frowned, before he could Kevin stood for his chair.
"I think I'll retire for now, tomorrow we will start your training Andy." Kevin explained, picking up his cane and leaving the room.

Jasmine heard Kevin mention the training, and when she turned to look in their direction, she missed a counter and dropped all of the dishes onto the floor. She jumped and gave a little yelp as they shattered, and then she quickly dropped to the floor frantically trying to collect all of the pieces. Hala shook her head and stepped over toward her, bending over herself to help.
"Jasmine, you clumsy girl," she sighed, "pay closer attention to what you are doing."
"I'm sorry! I thought I had it. Really, I did," Jasmine replied, stealing another glance up at Andy as she continued picking up glass, "you're training with him, Andy? W-what do you think about it, though? Do you think he could actually help you?"
She let out a sharp gasp suddenly and Hala responded with a frustrated sigh and said, "Jasmine, for the love of...! Go put it under some cold water, I'll look at it in a second." Jasmine shot up from the ground, blood dripping down her hand, and she went to grab for a small bowl to put some water in.

"Yes, yes I am, now please stop injuring yourself!" Andy yelped, waving his hands around. Kevin felt himself grimacing.
How did this girl pass her studies? Kevin wondered.
"I think...Kevin can help me, that way the next time I fight that Zelos guy..." Andy clenched his hand into a fist, anger shown in his eyes. "I'll be ready for him."

"H-hey!! I'm not that clumsy, it only happened because I was paying attention to you!" Jasmine shot at Andy while she splashed her hand with water. Hala looked at her and gave a disapproving "HMMMMMM" as she stood up with a bunch of the broken glass. Suddenly, Jasmine was flailing her arms around, too.
"N-NO, I MEAN--ARRRGH!" she shook her hands of the water and ran to one of the shelves, finding whatever she needed to rub on to her cut and seal it up. As she was patting her hand to recovery, she glanced over at Andy and said, "I mean...while you're getting stronger, I need to, too. I just want to make sure that you'll be alright if we run into him again. I'll be stronger next time now that I've done it, but it was really scary to see you dying in front of me, knowing I was the only one there who had any hope whatsoever of helping you. I was afraid of failing."
She hugged her hand close to her, directing her eyes to look at the floor, a shameful look resting on her face. She wanted to cry, but she wasn't going to--not in front of her mother, anyway.

Andy blinked once or twice before crossing his arms, "Well, if you say so..."
Andy wasn't sure what to say, or what to do. For the matter she looked pretty upset, and a part of him wanted to hug her...but the other part said it wasn't Andy's style. He shook his head a bit at himself and sighed.
"Well, are you going to be alright here? If you are then I was going to head to bed myself..."

Jasmine closed her eyes and was silent for a moment. After taking a deep breath or so, she slowly opened her eyes and gave him a nod.
"I...yeah, I will be. You go get some sleep, Andy. You're going to need it," she answered, but then headed for the front door, "I'm just going to make sure Kara's alright, though. I'll probably head to bed shortly after myself."
She wasn't lying, she was going to go visit Kara. But she wasn't going to go to sleep like she said she was. All of this talk of training Andy, this Griever god thing, the now expected return of Zelos, and that look in Andy's eyes when Zelos was even mentioned had her too worried to put her mind to rest. She figured this the most opportune moment, being at home with shelves upon shelves of ingredients, books, and a table in the front room to work at. She'd try to send Kara off to bed and then start her own intense studying in peace.
Hala had gone and left the room, possibly to check if Kevin needed extra blankets or something before he put himself to sleep, and Jasmine stepped out the door and looked around in the dark to find Kara.
"Kara? Are you alright?" she asked.

Kara had climbed into a tree and hid up in the leaves on a sturdy branch. She hugging her knees and called out to Jasmine in a shaky voice. "Yeah, I'm fine!"

Jasmine blinked, hearing Kara but definitely not seeing her. She gave the ground another look over, slightly confused, but she stepped out and off of the front porch to look around some more.
"I'm...I'm just checking because it's getting a little chilly out here, and everyone is getting ready for bed right now. Will you be coming inside? I really don't want to leave you out here by yourself."
She was quiet for a moment before she added, "...Are you sure you're alright?"

The moping did seem a bit unhealthy... "Maybe I'm not..." The leaves and branches slowly coated with a light blue and sparkling film of ice that the moonlight bounced off of around her.

Jasmine had no excuse to not see the tree cover itself in ice. She ran up to it and looked up. "Kara! Come down from there, hon," she called up it and then put a hand to her mouth.
'Oh god, I'm starting to sound like my mother...'
"You came for me, so now I think I should come for you, right?"

"Come on up Jasmine...it's really pretty up here. And peaceful." SHe moved slightly on the branch to make room for Jasmine to sit next to her if she wanted.

Now, Jasmine was no acrobat or anything, but she definitely gave a smile upwards at Kara and climbed the tree. She had some difficulties, of course, but at least she made it without hurting herself. Jasmine sat up close to Kara and was immediately mesmerized by the scene about them; something about the way the moonlight hit the leaves in the tree, the ice giving each a shiny coat, and the different and interesting shapes that were easily depicted by said light was something almost magical.
"Wow...this is pretty..." she whispered, but then gave Kara a concerned look, "...but why did you come up here, Kara? What's going on?"

"My cousin and I used to sit in a tree like this one back at home. He loved nature and in turn so did I." His face was still vivid in her mind, like she'd talked to him only just yesterday. But she left her words at that, Jasmine could question her more if needed.

Something almost felt like Jasmine had been struck hard in the heart, listening to Kara talk about her family at times. It was something she regrettably had not put much thought into until now, but where Jasmine had just learned that she had lost her father, she realized that Kara had ultimately lost a lot more.
Jasmine had her mother, yet. Kara had not a single living family member. She had had no friends until she and Andy found her, and Kara had not even familiar faces, even of people she rarely talked to. She had lost virtually everything but herself, whatever had happened to her. She then remembered what Andy had just said back in the house, how he never knew his parents and had no memories of them, so he really couldn't miss them. Kara had all her memories, though. Jasmine frowned and sighed deeply.
"The world we all live in is a heartbreaking one, isn't it?" she said quietly, "...what would you say you miss the most?"

It took her a second to reply. "Him. Just my cousin's prescense...sometimes it seemed like he was the only one who really cared. I was just a tool for everyone else. He was the one who taught me to play the violin you know. The one i have was one of his old ones. He gave it to me for my 8th birthday..."
