"H-hey! It's not my fault you left it sitting open on the--WHOA WAIT WAIT WAIT!!"
Vincent swiped out at Yeligar as he grabbed the ring box from his pocket, but failed to retrieve the item successfully from his superior. Vincent's eye twitched slightly and he tried to keep calm about it. He muttered something under his breath that didn't even really sound like it was part of a language, it came out all as gibberish.

Yeligar opened it and saw the ring. "Vincent... are you going to propose to Hala?" He asked as he look at the ring, "This is a very nice ring."

Vincent quickly looked away, shoving his hands into his pants pockets.
"I-I-I, it's...well...yeah," he mumbled, "I just...it's been on my mind a lot lately and I'm sorry it's clouding my work recently. I'm starting to think maybe I shouldn't, I don't think it'll really work, it's just messing me up..."

"Well, Vincent." He asked him, "You need to like the knight in that story children are told. Even if you have 6 years to live, are you willing to give up 5 to be with her for every day of the your last year?"

"Are you serious? You're using an old kid's tale to..." Vincent clapped a hand to his forehead and sighed deeply, "yeah. I suppose if I had the choice I'd do exactly that, I'd rather have her there than screw up and be alone anyway."

"See, You find someone that makes you feel that way, then stick with her." He said as he read the queen's letter. "It looks like our troops will be heading to the northern port. So, the quickest way there is by heading to the going by Shimmering Lake."

Vincent sighed again, though this time it wasn't out of frustration or defeat. He was just in the middle of trying to slowly take in everything that was about to unfold in his life...well, assuming Hala said yes. He was sure she would, but somehow he still had his doubts...
"I s'pose. I'd only bothered with her for this long because she does seem to be my 'special someone' afterall. And seeing as how we are going on route past the lake..." Vincent stuck his hand out to Yeligar, looking for the ring to be returned, "you wouldn't have a problem with me sparing a few minutes to uh...check in with Miss Fraus, would you? I'll catch right up, I'm sure you don't need both you and me leading anyone, I'll watch the rear."

"Yea, I need you to 'scout' ahead. I am going gather the troops, but it is going to take me a few days... Is that enough times?" He asked him, "And I am sending you alone."

Vincent shrugged slyly as he took the ring and slipped it back into his pocket.
"What can I say, an order's an order, right?" he answered smugly, grinning, "I'll do my very best, no mistakes. Shall I take my leave immediately or is that too soon?"

"Heh, of course," Vincent responded as he took a step back, gave a final quick bow and disappeared out the door. He had a few days, only a few days that he was granted to do this and he was either going to do it and do it well or...well, fail, and horribly.
He rarely stopped the trip out, and the closer he got to the lake the more nervous he became...again, an odd thing for Vincent Loque but it did happen from time to time like this. He smiled when he finally saw the sign ahead that read the 'shimmering lake', only a little ways to go...

As the lake came into view, the small house could clearly be seen in the light of the early afternoon. Visitors stood outside of the front door, a group of five men who apparently let themselves in. Hala rushed to the door, standing back as they made their way inside, some of the men pulling their swords rather than putting them away as they'd be asked; an anxious look sat upon Hala's face and she gave a quick glance around outside before she too disappeared behind the door.
She knew already herself these men were looking for trouble, which they were. Asking them to place their weapons by the door didn't help as one of them grabbed her and pushed her to the side--they began rummaging through the house and Hala frowned, keeping herself still where she was.
"Take what you want but it's worth nothing," she spoke aloud to them, "and we don't have any money here for you. I have a garden and live off of that, I generally grow my own healing ingredients and care for the sick and injured for no cost."
The man closest to the door looked at Hala, smirking as she spoke to them and turned a large pot over, clashing and clanging as it hit the floor. She flinched from the loud noise before turning her attention to him.
"Now please, there's no need to go making a lot of noise," she scolded, "I've got a sick person in the house here sleeping, you'll wake him. Take what you want and go." The same man rolled his eyes before cracking her across the face with the hilt of his sword. He shrugged and hung out by the door, then.
"Just shush up and let us do our thing, if your sick patient knows what's good for him he'll just pretend like he's still sleeping," he laughed.

Hello. Vincent raised an eyebrow at the suspicious-looking group inviting themselves inside the house. By now he was familiar with all sorts of odd people visiting Hala, but usually they entered the home putting their weapons away, not pulling them out.
Sighing, Vincent pulled his own sword as he made his way closer to the house. He'd counted five guys. This would be easy--take 'em all out, be the hero, get the proposal done with...and possibly score a wife? Heck, he probably had a better chance of her saying 'yes' if he took these guys out expertly. Maybe this wasn't such a bad thing that happened to him, maybe this was a helping hand from some higher power.
He grinned then for a moment before shaking his head, getting serious again. Vincent raised his foot, about ready to kick the door right open (because you know, that'd be the amazingly heroic thing to do)...but then realizing he didn't know who was where in the home. He then settled for just slowly opening the door and giving a half-surprised look as he too let himself in.
"Wow. Hey, guys, what's all going on here? Everyone seems to be...a little tense..." he glanced around with a slight grin, expecting at least one of them to swing at him immediately.

Hala rubbed her sore cheek, her eyes widening the moment she saw Vincent in the doorway. What the hell was he even doing here, he was supposed to be gone on military work. She looked from him to the man standing by the door, whom of which had been slightly startled by the appearance of another person so soon behind them. The fellow in question bolted backward, turning towards the door and pointing his sword at Vincent, ready to strike.
"H-hey! There's nothing to see here, buddy, you'd best move along and pretend you didn't see anything!" he spat, trying to look as intimidating as he could.

Vincent laughed upon seeing the other guy leap to attention. He shook his head and continued to march his way into the house, slamming the door shut behind him.
"I'd think you're better off putting the blade away--the lady here's got a strict rule of no weapons allowed in the house, in case she hadn't told you," he chuckled, glancing quickly at Hala, "right, Miss Fraus?"
