(I know I said Wednesday, but I finished getting ready for last night.)
The sun is setting over the salt plains of Vuoto, the Kingdom of Void, near the fishing town of Abyiodville. A man in the most unusually garb, sitting on a roof tossing a knife in his hand. He tossed the knife highly up into the air, and then he held out his arm. He looks at wrist and then he let the knife hit the roof. He pulls the knife out, and puts it away. He jumps off and started to walk towards the center of the kingdom. An old guard sitting near a hut was nearly asleep, until the masked man walked by him. “Hey, it’s night time! No one is allow to leave town, it’s suicide.” The guard said as he quickly sat up. “Don’t bother.” He said as he walked on. The guard shrugged, “If the kid wants to die, then he can go and die.” The guard sat back down, and started to fall asleep.
Set, the oddly dressed man, was walking towards nothingness, and then he stopped. He pulled out a metallic triangle and set it on the ground. He did the same thing 5 more times, and then he put a massive triangle in the center, where the 6 smaller triangles would intercross. He hooked up a cord form the triangle, to a small computer in his hand. He started to tapped on the screen, then the smaller triangles were glowing. He waited for a bit, then the large triangle started to glow, then a pillar of light appeared of front of him, then he stands there waiting.

8 minutes earlier, On Earth. In a conference room, A man sits in a chair, then he checks his watch. As soon as he does, a handful of people about 7-8 people are lead into the room by almost identical dressed men. All of the people take a seat, and the identical dressed men then put a folder in front of the people in the room, then the people leave. The man at the end of the table, Ra, stands up and tosses his folder across the table. “Hello. I am Ra, Falcon Recon Leader. Before I answer any of your questions about the mission statement, I need to know your name, and title. We will start on the people on my left, and we will go Clockwise.” The man sitting in the chair, with his legs propped up on the table, looking through the folder. He moved his legs down, once he realized that he was suppose to talk. He then cleared his throat, look up, and said with a heavy French accent, “Oh, Hi, I’m Ja- I mean, Anubis, and I’m a combat expert, and the Jack of all trade. If you need help with anything, I'm your man.” He then looked down and back to the folder.

It seems that he was next, he had yet to even look at the folder when he raised his hand and spoke "The name is Monthu." He said "Master archer, tactical expert, scout, occassional assassin, all around, generally awesome guy." His tone was one of interest, he had assumed he'd been brought onto the squad for his scouting skills, but he was hoping for a chance to use his archery and to show off a little bit.
He was a showman at heart, and somewhat cocky, so he had no doubt that he'd probably end up butting heads with someone on the squad, but he was proffessional, and he didn't brag for no reason. He was good at what he does.

At this point, Ma'at had found herself rolling her eyes, she spoke up, "It's people like you that make me wish this were a courtroom..."
She sighed, glancing to the rest of the group, knowing she would not fit in too much, she looked across so far- seeing two heartless souls followed by the vague people who had brought her in- she could read their intentions easily but it was not her place to judge.
"My name is Ma'at..I'm a judge in the Egyptian High Court- my record is flawless and my skills with ancient weaponry are possibly better than most people here just out of interest.. I've killed twice in self defense; I'd prefer to work things out tactfully rather than rush into battle, my official battle skills are nothing of note- in fact, why am I here?" She flipped the folder away from herself, not caring, "I'll work with anyone but I refuse to do anything inane, especially with an assassin.." she didn't mean to single out Monthu, but anyone in the room would understand- she was a judge after all.
"So may I leave and return to the court?"
Ma'at wasn't a girl keen to skipping the court, she considered herself a harbinger of justice, and being in this room was not being amongst her friends.

Bast sat in her seat, posture arrogantly elegant, long, lithe legs shown off by the long slit in her skirt. Her unsettling yellow eyes glanced around the room, before they settled, unimpressed, on Ma'at.
When she spoke, it was with a vaguely Welsh accent.
"So you're this 'judge' I've been hearing so much about. Set yourself up a nice little tyranny, or so I've heard. But sweetie, this isn't your courtroom; you're playing with the big girls, now, and if you're going to stick up your nose in the air at the prospect of doing anything that might get your delicate little hands dirty, well, I'd say you're welcome to run back to where you're nice and safe and in control."
She flipped her black hair back with a hand no less delicate-looking than Ma'at's, but her face lost its unpleasant sneer when it returned to the front of the room and the head of the table.
"I have many names, but I'll be Bast to this room, and I like myself a little danger. Still, the girl has a point; tell us what the mission is, or I'll stop wasting my time."

And boom, straight off the bat there was someone who would more than likely disagree with Monthu. This Ma'at clearly didn't like the prospect of working with a man who had killed for both money and country in the past. He took no form of insult from it, nor did he fear spouting that which he was, he was still technically under the protection of the Chinese government as a black agent and as such, didn't even exist so long as he wasn't caught, and that was yet to happen. All the same, she had a point, he also wanted to know what was going on.
"I basically agree with Bast." He said bluntly. "Whilst I'm not overtly thrilled at the prospect of working with some judge who clearly has something against a man of my profession, which might I add is not easy and it's the skills acquired through that profession that brought me here, I still want to know the job is, why I'm doing it, what's in it for me and what would be expected of me whilst I'm doing it."
Monthu was a stickler for details on a mission, being an archer he'd learnt that even the slightest of factors could have a grand effect on your shot, he took the same opinion with his general work ethic, if he didn't have all of the details, he could miss something that would later screw up the mission and put everyone in hot warer.

At this point,Ma'at smiled, she extended a hand toward Bast- "Indeed you are correct, my tyranny toward the guilty has been quite rash and undeserving of your attention. I can only be glad to see how long you last in a little danger- after all, I admit I cannot do much. My life has allowed me to do good for the community, by nature I am an overseer. I only have a talent of knowing everyone's intentions and desires- I can tell yours," she pointed to Bast, "is just boredom and desire to do something thrilling, more than before. If you wish I can say more of your feelings and attention toward anyone else.."
She looked at Monthu, "Like perhaps why you feel so attacked when I talk of your 'honorable' profession. I mean no disrespect to either of you. I simply don't know why we are together for a 'mission' that any of you could do alone, as you seem 'professional' by nature!"
Pointing out facts and incongruous details. That was her job after all.

The woman next to Bast looked around, and said in a soft voice, “Hello… I’m Isis, and I will be the medic for this recon mission.” She then quietly receded back to reading her file not known if she was heard during the commotion. She was trying to make sense of the papers, and ignore everyone fighting about something. From the sound of it, it looked like they were going to a foreign world… for magic? That isn’t possible… is it?

"Enough!" Ra said, irritated as he slammed his hand on the table. I thought I would be getting a group with some discipline... He thought, as he lifted his hand from the crater now on the table. "Now, since we don't have much time, I will summarize what the files says. Our objective is to set up 10 devices to make a well like object. These devices are easy to set up, however, we have to cover large track of lands, and we must complete these within 3 weeks or else we have failed the mission. You all have specific duties, and they are the ones you were hired for. Our location is a planet which we have called, SSL-003 Beta, It is inhabited by a humanoid race, but our information of this planet is limited, until we arrive at the planet with our informant, Set. Now, any confusions about the mission? I don't know anything else about the company, only what is in the files, and that is it, so don't ask me anything outside of our mission objective."

"Another planet, hm? And how is that possible? I don't see any space suits." She sighed, leaning forward and looking around. "The file mentions something about... magic or mana or some such. Aren't we a little old to be playing these kinds of jokes on?"
The eagerness of her tone belied the skepticism in her words.

"It's with the mana that our travel arrangements. We are using some of the remaining mana we have here, and we had sent an informant earlier to set up the relay there, so that we wouldn't have to use all of our limited Mana, so space suits are not necessary." He stood up and pulled out a metallic cylinder that he had on his hip. "These are no joke." Then a blade appeared out of thin air from the cylinder, it was about 2 feet long, and it had a white glow to it. "This is Mana, and our goal is to obtain an unlimited amount of it." The blade then vanished, and then he put it away. He looked at his pocket watch, and then said, "Any more questions will have to be asked at the M.O.G. All of the supplies you will need, and anything you had requested are in backpacks in the room with the M.O.G."

"I can't believe I'm going through with this..." Monthu grumbled as he stood up to retrieve his equipment. He could scarcely believe it, mana, swords made out of pure energy, transportation to another planet. It was like he was trapped in a low budget fantasy film and he didn't really like it one bit, still he had been promised a fair bit for the success of the job and if he was honest, he needed the money. Earth was in a time of peace and no-one had any real time for an assassin.

She sighed, standing up.
"If it's not a hoax, though, it'll be one hell of a ride," she replied to him. "That makes it good enough for this little kitty-cat." She put a smile on. "Well, let's get the show on the road, hmm?" And she followed Monthu out the door.

Isis nodded, as she stood up, and she looked at the papers. "This would be interesting to study, and maybe I can be able to use it to heal!" She said cheerfully as she followed the rest of the team.

"Road? Tsk, I'm pretty sure we're taking this show up into space... Onto another planet... Or so we've been told." He retorted as he stepped through into the next room and looked around for his gear. It wasn't hard to miss, it was the backpack with the quiver of arrows and bow next to it. Wandering over, he picked up the quiver and slung it over his left shoulder, going diagonally across his back, he picked up and slung his backpack on as well. Finally, picking up the bow he pulled back on the string to make sure that everything was in order, seeing that nothing was amiss he held it in his left hand, he waited for the others.
"So, what happens first? We make fools of ourselves by all of this not working? Oooh! Or maybe, we all get taken into the depths of space and die from lack of oxygen!"
