"Something sweet. Definitely something sweet. Or potato products. I love potato! Just not sweet potato. I don't like sweet potatoes for some reason..." I rambled, looking around the site. "I smell something... From over there!" I pointed over to a stand with a man making some kind of dough foods. "It smells really good! Let's go!" I grabbed Rin's sleeves and dashed over to the stand.

"Why do you have to run, Daisuke? You know I hate it...." I groan out after stopping at the stand with him. "Reach into my pocket, Dai. I have some money. Just buy me something with sugar." Sweets. I liked them. Even as a child. Well, one would expect a child to like sweets. But they just kind of stuck with me.

"No way! I have some money that can pay for both of us. You need to save your money for paint and stuff." We reached the front of the line very quickly, which was good because I was very hungry. "Hey mister, what are you making here?" "Why, fried dough of course! What kind of circus would this be without it!" The man responded with a bone shaking laugh. "Is it sweet?" "Indeed it is my boy! Not only does the dough have a tinge of sweetness to it, but we have some powdered sugar you can add to it as well!" Amazed by this notion, I slap my money down on the stand. "That sounds great! Two please, both with sugar!" I ordered the man. "Coming right up." He said happily, as he turned to begin frying the dough.

"Sugar? What are you getting, Dai? I want some! Is it sweet?!" Even I had an impatient, childish side. Looking back, I guess it's kind of funny. I'd always remember the taste of fried dough, too. But that's probably only because of Daisuke...

"Of course it's sweet Rin! It has sugar on it!" I replied, growing antsy. I couldn't wait to try the food. "Ok, here's your order!" The man finally said, handing me the plates of fried dough. "Yay! Thanks mister!" I walked off, not noticing the man's cries of "Hey boy, you forgot your change! Young man?!" Sitting down at a nearby bench, I began to dig in. "This. Is. GREAT!" I cried out, and got up just so that I could jump up and down. Sitting back down, I began to wolf down he treat. "It's wonderful!" I said with a full mouth. "Go ahead Rin, try it!" I said, motioning to her plate.

"...You left your change back there on purpose, showoff..." But that was something I always liked about him. He was flashy and fun to be around. I felt like we balanced each other out. I had picked up the plate between my feet and tilted it back to let some of the dough fall in my mouth. Biting it off, I shake with excitement. "Wonderful! I doubt I'll find anything this good ever again!"

"I doubt it!" I remarked as I tore into the dough again. "That is, until I figure out how to make it! I promise that i'll make it for us again sometime!" It was a bit of an empty promise at the time, as I had no prior cooking knowledge, but no one ever said that I couldn't learn! "And what change? I didn't leave any change..." I said with a sly smile, mocking Rin's earlier comment. "Even if I did, it couldn't have been much." I said, before swallowing the remainder of my fried dough. "So, what now?" I asked, springing up out of my seat and throwing my arms around Rin's shoulders.

"...Let me finish eating." In the time it took him to wolf his down, I'd savored three bites, and over half of it was still left. I tilt in one more bite. "But really... stop being so showy. You never know when you'll need to buy me paint..."

"True, true.." I remarked, watching intently as she ate. "Just hurry, it looks like it's starting to get later out." I commented, peering over to the ever-growing shadows on the metallic ground.

I look to the gray-turning-slightly-orange sky. "Yeah, I guess you're right." I put the plate into his hands. "Do watcha want with that. I'm full, anyway." And then I stand with a small yawn. "Where are we going now? Nothing like the machines we were just on... I don't wanna throw that up. It was tasty."

I wolf down the remainder of Rin's fried dough and look around. "How about we just watch the sunset then? It should be coming along soon, or at least by the time we find somewhere to watch it from." I replied. I was set on watching the sunset, that is until I saw a stand with some sort of game. "Wait, Rin, look over there!" I yelled, as I began to wander in the stand's direction. "It's a game! I wonder if there's a prize!" I exclaimed, getting in line. "Come on Rin! You gotta cheer me on!"

"Cheer?" I give him by best "are-you-serious" look, but sigh and look at the game. "Oh, look, a throwing game. That looks fun." My voice was sincerely honest. Most armless people may have been sarcastic about it, but I was actually interested. Daisuke was pretty good at throwing.

"Yup, and I'm gonna win you something!" I say, paying no attention to her 'are-you-serious' look. "So you'd better cheer loudly!" I say, marching up to the stand. "One play please!" I say, holding out the money. The man running the stand took the money out of my hand, and placed the 'ammunition' down in front of me without another word. Three shots to knock down all of those milk jugs, eh? Easy. I aim carefully, and rear back as if preparing to strike.

"Um... Yay? Do it? I don't know how to cheer..." I did. I'd seen older girls do it. They waved their arms a lot and yell really loudly. "Um... you can do it?" I waved my nubs up and down to try and mimic those other girls.

Wow, Rin is actually trying to cheer! Now I can't lose! Finally whipping my arm out, I hit the jugs in a spot where they all seemed to meet, and sent all three to the floor. "Yes! Yes! It's a one-hit wonder!" I called out, jumping up and down. "Come pick out a prize Rin! I won for you after all." I yelled to her, with a huge grin painted across my face.
