The laziest of gazes was always when I woke up. But this was a time where mornings were interesting. We were ten years old. I lived on the streets still, of my own accord, but this is a time where I had a best friend. Daisuke...
This morning starts like all mornings. My eyes flutter open. This was an alleyway I had deemed my own, with paintings all over the lower half of the walls. I wake up to seeing my colors greet me. And I smile like a child seeing the most beautiful thing.
And then Daisuke finds me in the mornings...

"Hey Riiiin! Usually I'm as lazy as yoooou are but today is different!" I shouted as I ran down the alleyway. "There's a circus in town! A REAL circus! I bugged enough money off of my parents for two tickets, so we need to hurry! We can't miss out on this!" I ran right up to where she was laying down and looked down into her face. "Need any help doing anything? We gotta get you up as quickly as possible! Not that I wouldn't help you regularly, but you know. We gotta be quick today!"

My lazy gaze looks up to those eyes, that were a much lighter green than mine. The excited way he did everything... I look away immediately to hide my pink face. "Oh... Okay..." I hated when people offered me help. Always. But Daisuke was different. I never actually let him. He either did it on his own, or I had to do it before he was able to react. But I'd gotten used to it. He never wanted to help me because I had no arms. He just wanted to help. So I didn't mind him...
"A circus sounds interesting, I guess... Can I do some caricatures?" I ask as I slide myself up on the wall.

"Hey, that's a great idea!" I blurt out. "Really, you're brilliant sometimes! I'm sure everyone there would love them." I continued on. "Hey, maybe we can perform for the performers, so to speak. I can play my music, and you can caricaturize them." I said, taking out my mandolin and stringing on it a bit. "They'll probably appreciate it so much that we can get a second performance!" Breaking out in a loud laugh, I begin to playing a fast paced tune; one with a sense of childish spirit and energy. "Today is going to be so much fun! You're such a great friend!"

My face was as red as the painting just behind me. I probably could have blended in with it if I wasn't hiding my face in the white shirt I wore. "That's... not okay, Dai. I don't want to get attention..." I mumble out, and shift my feet onto a cooler piece of metal. Everything he did made me feel uncomfortable, but.. I didn't mind. He was my closest friend. The simple act of strumming on a mandolin made me flustered. "Let's just go, okay? You already bought the ticket. We may as well..."

"He he, fine fine." I chuckle, putting the mandolin away. Grabbing her by the sleeve as if it were her hand, I began to speed off, as if nothing was out of the ordinary. It wasn't long before we stumbled upon the circus entrance. Taking the tickets out of my pocket, I handed one to Rin. "Ready Rin?" I asked with a smile.

I take the ticket's corner in my mouth and nod. "Mmhrmph." I try to smile back, but I drop the ticket. "Ugh." Even after only ten years of it, my dexterity and speed with my legs and feet was quick. I picked it up off the ground with my toes and put it back in my mouth, nodding once more.

"You ought to be more careful with that ticket Rin. It's our only way in!" I say, closing the distance between our small party and the man who takes the tickets. "Just the two of us!" I said to the man, holding out the ticket in front of me. All of a sudden, however, a very powerful wind started blowing, and ripped the ticket out of my hand. Crap, no! "Agh! No way!" I yelled, as I tried to snatch the ticket. "Hey mister, can you just let us in? You saw my ticket..." The man immediately responded in a stern, hoarse voice. "Sorry, but no ticket, no entry." "Fine, we'll show you!" I shouted angrily. "Come on, Rin! Let's catch that ticket!" I yelled, grabbing her sleeve and rushing off again.

"Aahh! Dai, I hate running! It hurts my feet!" I complaing, but try and keep up, anyway. Since I couldn't pump my arms, I didn't have as much pace as anyone who did. But I could keep well enough. Not to mention I had to keep my mouth clamped on the ticket. "Where did it even go, Dai? I'm getting tired..."

"Sorry, I forgot that you hate running. Here!" I said as I stopped shortly and picked her up piggyback style, balancing her on my back while I tied her sleeves around my neck. Grabbing her legs to hold onto her, I began running again. "You can probably see better from up there, so be the lookout!" I called up to her, running in the direction that the wind was blowing in.

If only he could see the annoyance on my face. Not that he would have cared at all. So I rest my chin on his head, his hair whipping me in the face. His hair was always very soft... If I had hands, I might have wanted to play with it. And it's always something I might have wanted hands for...
"There. I can see the red ticket there. It's flying past that bench." I bite some of his hair and pull it off to the right, since I couldn't even point my nubs at this point.

Sarcastically making horse whinnies as she pulled at my hair, I quickly turned to the right and saw the ticket for myself. "Thanks Rin, I see it now!" I called up before putting on an extra boost of speed. It wasn't long before we caught up with it, and I realized that my hands were a bit full at the moment. "Rin, i'm going to let go of one of your legs. Catch the ticket." I said, as if catching a ticket with your foot whilst in motion and balancing on someones back was the easiest thing in the world to do. "I'll make sure you don't fall, so focus on getting it!"

"Yep. Go right for it." I reply in such a lazy tone. I stretch out my right leg to catch it. Easy enough. "Just whenever you're ready, I guess."

"Ok, let's do this!" I call back, as I charge the ticket "HAAAA!" I yell, as almost a rallying cry for a three soldier war. We were almost on top of the ticket, when the wind began to blow again. "Do it, Rin! I believe in you!"

I snatch it up on the first try. "Easy, bronco." I chuckle into his ear. I twist my leg up to his face and shove the ticket in his face. "This thing is a lot of trouble you know. Don't lose it again." I'd slipped mine into his pocket during the actual ride here.
