Dios followed in silence behind the group, keeping an eye on everyone, ascertaining their individual characteristics over chatting with what appeared to be a rather sorted and disjointed lot. With his hands tucked in his pockets in a rather sad attempt to retain warmth, Dios could only roll his eyes at what he considered to be rather obvious observations, and the rather childish interactions taking place between The Other, Andy and Jasmine.
Dios would've already slunk through and continued on his merry way, but peering through the planes he could easily perceive that magical barrier that barred his movement onward and was simply left to pontificate what other means he could use to maneuver past the shielded door. Pulling his hand out for but a moment to ruffle his hair and breath a few warm breaths upon them, Dios surreptitiously followed behind Andy, reading the markings on the large white stone, doing his best to fill in the blanks to the rather broken message it held.
Dios couldn't help but chuckle at The Other's comment, one part at the rather brazen stupidity of the thought, and the other part coming from the his own dark sense of humour. Narrowing his eyes back on Andy, he looked on with a smug sense of satisfaction, believing full well that the young boy's efforts to open the door would fall flat, but found himself taken aback at the doors sudden opening upon the boys touch. It was suspicious, far to suspicious to just be a coincidence, and something that Dios' wasn't willing to just let slide as the other seemed to.
"Okay, alright, hod it right there....Am i seriously the only one who finds it, well, more then a little strange to put it nicely, that some orange haired kid just happened to open this sealed door completely in the middle of nowhere that easily? I mean, come on, people! I and anyone else here with even the slightest modicum of intelligence should be demanding the full story here before moving a single step further."
Dios walked up to Andy, his usually squinted eyes open as he stared down at the boy with a rather menacing and accusatory glare, his hands clasped firmly against the daggers in his pocket, more so out of habit than anything.
"I'd start talking, pup, cause I follow the edict of "guilty till proven innocent" and right now, you and this Duo character seem to have a little too much in common for my liking." Dios' voice rung with a strange seriousness, not so much out of any genuine concern for the misfit band of characters under the "lead" of the boy in front of him, but rather the off chance that this whole situation was leading up to a knife in his back.

"Hold on, now!"
In the matter of seconds Jasmine forgot she was even giving Andy the pouting, cold shoulder as Dios tore into Andy. In those few seconds she stood by him again and gave Dios her own defensive stare.
"You sir very well have the choice of following along or not, no one's making you go anywhere with him. If you don't trust him, you're free to leave. He doesn't have to answer to you."
'Because if anything, he answers to me!'

Andy blinked for a moment as Dios accused him of...being Duo? Really? He narrowed his eyes for a moment and stepped next to Jasmine.
"Look...I am not Duo, at all, if you read that stone pedestal you would see while there is a...specific criteria to opening that door, being Duo is not one of them." he paused and added, "And as for the matter on some of those things...I barely know most of you and its not information I am comfortable trusting the rest of you with. If that bothers you so much then Jasmine is right, you are free to come and leave on your own permission. But if you plan to stay then you'll just have to trust there is some parts of me I don't plan on sharing...right away anyway."

Dios just stood there, eyeing down Andy for short bit after the boy retorted. It was a strange thing though, suddenly it appeared as if a twitch of some sort seemed to be twisting the scowl that sat on Dios' face, causing his lips to almost bend and clench, pout and tense for a few moments before he simply turned around, his all but serious demeanour gone in an instant as he stood there guffawing, a free hand wiping tears from his eyes as he did so.
"Oh gods, okay, whoooo..." Giving his whole body a shake as if trying to "get the giggles out," Dios quickly adjusted a few bits here and there on his suit before turning back to Andy, his guise all but back to pleasantries and smiles. "I haven't laughed that hard in awhile, kid, so I thank you for that. Hehe, seriously though, don't worry, sport, that answers was more absolving then anything else you could've said. Yeah, answers like that are, truly, truly tell-tale, as nobody, save for the most dispensable and incompetent of minions are both working for the leader and that thick."
Giving Andy a playful, almost mocking pat on the back, he motioned him forward with an almost gentlemanly gesture of his arms.
"After you, oh fearless leader. I actually almost feel bad, gettin' all "serious" and such, but I'm glad I can cross that little worry off my mental check list," Dios remarked, making a small checkmark gesture with his hand accompanied by a "dinging" sound before he resumed a mixture of chuckling and satisfied sighs.
'Seriously though, kiddies," Dios' began as he did his best to pull back his chortles. "Don't think you're gonna get rid of me that easily. I'm not bounding around with you all to get all buddy-buddy and engage in heart to hearts, but simply because I'm here to investigate what's going on with this Duo character, and you all seem to be providing the best leads. So whether you like it or not, best brace yourself for the long haul, cause ol' Dios ain't going nowhere."
Finishing with what he dubbed "necessary chit-chat," Dios' nonchalantly meandered over to a nearby rock, brushed the snow off its top, and grabbed a seat, taking what little time he could to slack until he needed to continue following his "leader."

Andy stared at him...and sighed. Placing his head in his hand he shook his head, feeling a bit exasperated by everything thats going on.
"Yes well...congrats for you," he turned around and faced the cave entrance, "Lets get this part over with."
He walked into the cave and with the rest in tow, after a short bit they found themselves into a large oval room with a large door bolted shut with not just locks but with magic as well, and stairs spiraling all the way upwards up to the top of the room where the light of the just appearing sun could be seen. The symbols on the wall were both Ignis and Ghiaccio, as old armor and swords lie about.
Andy craned his head around and saw some smaller doors on the staircase leading up, could be treasure rooms...but what was behind these doors that made Duo send an entire army out to? Was it behind the big door or the smaller doors?
Okay...show me your secrets. Andy thought as he walked to the large door, trying to press his hand to it and see if the magic would fade like before.
No luck.
"Hmm...guess it was too hopeful if that would work a second time."

Jasmine followed Andy, giving Dios a cautious look every now and then like she was afraid he was suddenly going to jump on them or something, and stared wide-eyed at the room they ended up entering.
She watched with bated breath as Andy put his hand on the next, large and important-looking door they had in front of them but alas, it remained shut. She approached it next and put her own hands on it, leaning in to listen if there was anything on the other side of it. It was either quiet or it must have been a pretty thick door (she refused to factor in that she might have just not heard right) because she heard nothing.
"Maybe this one will be taken down by force?" she suggested with a shrug, her eyes travelling towards the staircase, "how about you see what you can do with this and I'll go up and take a look for an alternative?"
She didn't even wait, she said these last words as she briskly walked away from the group and already took to the stairs.

Andy looked up at the steps and called out, "Jasmine be careful up there we don't know if there are any traps!"
With that in mind, there were several doors ahead of her as she climbed the spiraling staircase. All she had to do was pick a door and find out if there was anything worth while inside...
Andy meanwhile began to look around the room and after a brief amount of searching found something, a round indentation beside the large door. It looked like an oval object could slip in the slab, Andy stepped back and called up to Jasmine.
"Jas! I found a way to open the door but it needs a round stone..tablet or something, see if you can find something like that in one of the rooms!"

Jasmine kept a careful eye out for traps. She wasn't as good as a more skilled warrior but she felt keen enough.
She took a look at the first door she came across and cracked it open. What was she looking for? Andy said something about finding...
Her thoughts were cut short as something as big as her hand and furry scurried right over her foot. Mouse? A rat more like. It didn't matter which one it was, it still resulted in Jasmine shrieking and automatically throwing a ball of fire at it.
"I'm okay I'm okay I'm okay!!!!" She started yelling as she tiptoed along searching the floor for more furry creatures and the small oval key thing.

The room Jasmine was in looked like a treasure room, odd pots and jewels lay about making the room a very bright gold...on the far end of the narrow room were two portraits...a thin sheen of magic protecting it so it looked as pristine as it was the day it was painted. On the left was a family of three, a dark haired youth, straight back, solemn, very serious at the man's side was a woman with bright orange hair, a bright smile, just full of life. In her arms was a baby, no more than a few months old, some specks of orange hair on his head, wrapped up in red blankets - the portrait seemed to capture him playing with his mother's hair.
On the right was another portrait, with a family as well, a man, a woman, and a daughter: the daughter was clearly unmistakable, Kara Samsra. Each portrait held the name of the respected family, on the left the Jahangir Family and on the right the Samsra Family.
Andy however was worried about Jasmine's yell and bright light, he leaned against the railing at the bottom and called up. "Jasmine! Are you okay?!"

Jasmine kept her eyes out for anymore rats, shuddering uncontrollably thinking about their disgusting teeth and horrible diseases they carried on them. When she looked up the first portrait she saw was actually the one of the Samsra family, something of which she recognized without the title because she'd know Kara's beautiful face anywhere!
"Lovely," she found herself saying with a sigh, glancing over the painting and then over the tables as she reminded herself she was looking for a round stone of sorts. Unable to notice anything on the right side of the room she turned around, the bright orange-haired people in the other portrait catching her eye immediately. She blinked curiously, squinting at the title as she approached it.
"The Jahangir Family..." she looked up and stared at the portrait immediately, Andy's calls from the floor below lost to her; despite never seeing any of these people before, she realized something was very odd in the picture. Even in paint there were unmistakable similarities in facial structures among the three that she recognized a little too easily, and knowing that Andy had just been the one to open up the door...she couldn't say for sure, not without any doubt, but it was too much to be a coincidence. There wasn't really a chance this could be...?
"Andy?" she called, her voice quiet and unsure if he'd even hear it or not. She tried to shake herself back to her task at hand, resuming her search for the key to the door downstairs but finding herself frequently looking back at the portrait. It wouldn't leave her mind.

When Jasmine didn't answer him Andy ran up the steps, hand on sword he pushed open the door to the room and-
found her rummaging through bins and trays, completely all right and unharmed.
"Ya know a little reassurance next time might be nice, for all I know you could have been stabbed or eaten or..." he trailed off when his eyes caught sight of the portraits in the room. He stopped talking and just stared at them, lost for words.

She was going to argue it with him, or if anything apologize and try to explain herself as she too had been at a bit of a loss for words... He figured it out himself though. He was looking at the portraits as well. Jasmine bit her lip and looked from the one particularly about the 'Jahangir' family and back to him, waiting to see if it really did anything for him.
"A...bit odd, huh?" she spoke quietly, "I wasn't really too sure if I should have called you but...oh dear, what am I saying?"
Jasmine sighed and stared at the portraits with Andy, pointing to the baby in the one and saying simply, "I have this really odd feeling I'm supposed to know him. What do you figure?"

"Its me." Andy stated, no hesitation, no doubt - he looked at Jasmine and elaborated further. "Last year...Griever showed me the events that got me to Earth, I...I recognize those two, they're my parents."
He walked a bit closer, standing next to Jasmine as he looked at him. "My dad was killed during a fight in Tuono...I don't know why he was there but he was, my mother she...she died of an illness I think, something..."
He trailed off again, just staring at the picture. "...mom was the redhead...must have got my hair from her..."

If Andy confirmed it, there it was. It really was him, this was his family. It was weird seeing all of this and knowing that something over a year ago she was under the impression that he was just some strange boy from Earth.
Out of the corner of her eye she saw Andy move in closer to her and instinctively she reached her hand over to his and held it tightly. She only let the moment fall silent enough as she examined the family, happy together, reminding her of the pictures she'd seen of her own family with her father, her mother, and herself only as a baby as well...and being here sharing the experience of having neither set of parents. Her situation wasn't the same as his, she'd known her mother, and learned to love her father again with only enough time for her to lose her respect for him all over again.
She sighed, trying to shake her stupid drunken father out of her head and tightened her grip slightly on Andy's hand. She forced a smile as she looked up at him.
"Your mother was a very beautiful lady, I think."

"She was..." Andy agreed, "I would have liked to known her."
It took awhile but Andy finally pulled his gaze away from the portrait, "We need to find that round tablet...there are like a thousand doors in this door and if we have to search each one it could be awhile. Did you find anything before I came up here?"
